The CFO behind FinCephas Consulting. 

I'm Pedro — a finance professional with 15+ years of progressive experience in financial management, currently serving as CFO and Board Member at a leading biotech firm. My career began in 2007 as an accounting trainee and grew through every layer of the finance function — from junior and senior accountant to Controller, and ultimately CFO in 2022. That progression gives me something most CFOs don't have: a ground-level understanding of financial operations, not just strategic oversight.

I hold an FMVA® certification from the Corporate Finance Institute, a Licentiate in Management from the University of Coimbra, and have been a certified member of Portugal's Certified Accountants Association (OCC) since 2013. My career spans roles as Controller, Senior Accountant, and Project Financial Controller — giving me a full-stack view of financial operations, not just the top floor. 

My experience runs deep in biotech and life sciences, where financial complexity is the norm — multi-entity structures, R&D investment cycles, and international reporting standards. Beyond corporate roles, I've supported SMEs with project proposals for R&D European Funds and Portugal's Tax Incentive for R&D (SIFIDE II) — a specialized area where the right financial guidance can unlock significant non-dilutive funding. 

FinCephas Consulting is my way of making that experience available to the businesses that need it most — without the overhead of a full-time hire.
